What is Zinkly built with?
Zinkly is built on Laravel 13 (PHP 8.3+) with a MySQL or MariaDB database. The interface uses Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, bundled with Vite. Real-time chat, typing indicators and notifications run on Laravel Reverb (WebSockets), voice and video calls use LiveKit, push notifications use Firebase, the ZinklyChat mobile apps connect through a Laravel Passport API, and Google / Discord sign-in uses Laravel Socialite.
What do I need to run it?
A VPS or dedicated server with SSH / terminal access. Shared hosting is not enough, because Zinkly runs background processes. You will need PHP 8.3+, MySQL or MariaDB, Composer, Node.js to build the front-end, a cron job for the scheduler, a queue worker and the Reverb WebSocket server kept running (for example with Supervisor), plus an SSL certificate. For voice and video calls you also need a LiveKit server (self-hosted or LiveKit Cloud).
How do I buy Zinkly?

Can I run it under my own brand name?
Yes. Set your own site name and logo in the AdminCP, and your members see your brand across the site instead of Zinkly. Removing the Zinkly copyright notice or modifying the source code requires the Extended licence.
